CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A Maryland-based franchise with New England roots is planning to debut a restaurant in downtown Charleston this spring.

Dan Beck, the founder of Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls, has confirmed that his business will open an eatery in the former Wild Wing Cafe location at 36 N. Market Street.

The restaurant will be located on the ground floor in what will be a boutique hotel.

Although Mason’s website describes the franchise as a “homage to the Maine culture and tradition,” the flagship shop is located in Annapolis, Maryland.

Mason’s menu includes lobster rolls, salads, soups, kids’ options, and more. The representative said all of their lobster comes direct from a supplier in Prospect Harbor, Maine.

Their current menu prices range from about $10 to $20, with the traditional lobster rolls (Maine or Connecticut style) running just shy of $15. You can see the menu here

The Charleston location will be franchise store. The franchisee is based in Mount Pleasant.
