Annapolis, Maryland-based Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls is opening its second unit. Under the direction of Dan Beck, it opens this month is Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, according to a company press release.

After 25 years of restaurant ownership, Beck said he concentrated his wealth of industry and particularly seafood expertise on procuring and selling high-end seafood to upscale restaurants. Although the Rehoboth store will be company owned, Beck launched a franchise program in Spring of 2016, according to the release.

Franchisees have executed agreements in several major markets and are expected to open stores this year. Key to Mason’s success is its compelling business model that requires only a small footprint and a modest upfront investment from franchisees — typically less than half of comparable fast casual offerings, according to the release.

To help fuel growth, Beck has teamed up with FranPoint Partners, which has worked with MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream, Boston Market and California Tortilla.
