Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls has been rapidly expanding since opening its flagship Annapolis, Md., location in 2014. The fast-casual franchise has made lobster-lovers out of seafood fans by opening additional locations in Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, D.C., Washington state, Texas and Virginia. The new restaurant in Arlington is located at 4017A Campbell Ave, Arlington, VA 22206 in the Village of Shirlington.
This is the third Mason’s restaurant in Virginia, with other locations in Reston and Virginia Beach. Due to the success of the other Virginia and nearby Washington, D.C., locations, there was an overwhelming amount of requests to bring lobster rolls to Arlington’s restaurant hub.
The Arlington restaurant is co-owned by Taj and Faries McCree, who both have strong ties to Boston, where lobster rolls are a classic cuisine. With their love for food – and lobster – the McCrees decided to bring Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls to Arlington’s bustling restaurant scene.
Taj McCree served 14 years in the United States Army and Army National Guard, along with 20 years of experience as a practicing attorney. He also has experience in the hospitality industry, working at a boutique hotel in Boston, where he learned key customer service skills.
“Arlington is unique – it has a small town feel and patrons are loyal to local businesses,” said Taj McCree. “We are excited to share Mason’s lobster rolls with the community, and we know lobster aficionados and novices in Arlington are going to love it.”
Faries McCree grew up in Boston in a large family of seven brothers and sisters, creating fond memories centered around gatherings with great food. “I learned the value of quality seafood as a child, and Mason’s has the most authentic New England lobster rolls around,” said Faries McCree. “Seafood-lovers in the area can stop by and enjoy mounds of lobster meat sustainably sourced from the waters of Maine on a grilled, buttery split-top roll.”
